Transporting cranes is a difficult yet essential task of the construction industry, and as you might expect it can be more difficult in some situations than others.
If you look at a scenario taking place in a metropolitan area, you’ve got quite a difficult task. Depending upon the size of the machinery, the crane will have to be broken down into a number of different pieces so that it can transported more easily. This may mean up to 10 trucks working to transport the crane. Despite all of this, the task can be accomplished quickly so long as the logistics are managed correctly.
Another scenario could be transporting the crane across country, dozens, or perhaps even hundreds of miles. This task is considerably more difficult, in that you’re travelling along badly constructed, badly managed road systems, working to limit the maximum weight allowance and slowing down the task considerably. The issues around this are largely unavoidable, so expecting massive costs is a matter of course for construction projects taking place outside of urban environments.
