Artexing can be done in many ways. There’s the dab effect, which essentially involves a plastic bag and dabbing on to the wet plaster to create a nice textured pattern. Then there’s the famous swirl effect, which can look great when it’s coated in white paint. It’s a well known artex pattern and it also looks good on walls.
A more artistic ways of artexing with the knife approach, and it essentially involves using a knife to spread the plaster in random directions which results in leaving various random lines, while overlapping can help to add more texture.
