If you’re looking to work from a height, you don’t always require an expensive crane, and there is now some wonderful technology incorporated into access equipment. If a ladder is too small for your job but a crane is too big, then you can look for tracked access platforms, self drive platforms and boom and scissor machines.
These different types will get you to the appropriate height safely, while they’re easy to manoeuvre, and very lightweight. In many ways these platforms are cranes, but they tend to be more compact, and you’re able to have them fitted to vans and, while advanced models can be positioned by a remote control.
These machines are much cheaper to rent than a crane, and they can prove to be a long term investment for small scale construction projects, so make sure you consider these before you waste unnecessary amount of money on a large crane.
